Food for Falcons, Hygiene Products, Clothing, and Transportation
During the semester, Folsom Lake College holds a weekly Free Pop-up Pantry, starting September 9, distributing perishable and non-perishable food for our students and our FLC community. The Falcon Cares Program also has a stocked food pantry, clothing closet, hygiene products free of charge, specifically for Folsom Lake College actively enrolled students in need. If qualified, we also offer a lunch token program that is good for up to $12 to be used at our Falcon Roost Cafeteria. Falcon Cares New Registration Requirements
Falcon Cares is transitioning to a new software platform, PantrySoft, to make accessing our Basic Needs services easier and more efficient. Beginning immediately, students will be required to complete a one-time registration through PantrySoft. Once your registration is complete, you will be able to access most Falcon Cares services, including:
- Gas and Walmart Gift Cards
- Food Pantry
- Hygiene Products
- Clothing Closet
- Free Coffee and Tea
- Emergency Housing
- New Utility and Rental Assistance Program, launching this fall
- Lunch Tokens
Register for PantrySoft
To register, please visit PantrySoft and select: STUDENT LOGIN AT FOLSOM LAKE COLLEGE. This will guide you through the one-time registration process. Once your registration is complete, you’ll be able to access Falcon Cares services available through PantrySoft.
Lunch Token Qualifications:
- Folsom Lake College must be your financial aid home school
- You must be enrolled in at least 6 units or at least 2 classes
Pop-Up Pantry
Weekly Fresh Produce and additional food resources donated by Twin Lakes Food Bank. Free to our Folsom Lake College students and our FLC community.
Gas and Walmart Gift Cards
To help with transportation costs and continued access to food, and hygiene products, Falcon Cares offers, to qualified students, a $30 Gas and a $30 Walmart gift card each month. Click on the links below to apply and view requirements. Please only apply once.
Laptop Request
During the semester, Folsom Lake college’s Falcon Cares Program supplies the library with loaner laptops for the semester to active FLC students. Visit the library to check-out a laptop. Laptops are checked out on a first come first serve basis and must be returned by the last day of the semester to avoid a fee.
Student Emergency Housing
Many students experience homelessness or unsafe housing conditions. We offer a short-term hotel voucher system to help students secure long-term housing.
Student Emergency Fund
The Los Rios Colleges Foundation Student Emergency Fund provides expedited financial assistance to students involved in catastrophic or unexpected emergency situations. We don't these situations to hinder our student's progress towards a certificate or degree, and these one-time grants come with no repayment obligations. A student may receive a maximum of one student emergency fund grant of up to $500 during all combined enrollments at the Los Rios colleges. All awards are contingent upon the availability of limited funds, provided through generous donations.
Utility and Rental Assistance Program
(Coming this Fall)
The Folsom Lake College Utility & Rental Assistance Program provides financial assistance to eligible students who need help with utility and Rental expenses. Assistance may be used toward utility gas, electricity, water, wastewater (sewer), or rent.
