Online Tutoring
If you are ready to challenge yourself and see how far free online tutoring can take you, check out the schedule below and book an appointment. For any additional help, feel free to contact the front desk.
- For the best possible experience, we recommend installing Zoom before your first online tutoring session. Depending on your device, remember to allow the download and run the installer once it has finished downloading.
- Click the button above for the type of tutoring that you want.
- First you will see the “Online Appointment System” page. Input your student ID number (without the W) and your birth-date.
- Next you will see the “Tutoring Appointment Menu” page. Click “Make an Appointment”.
- Go to the “Tutoring Reason Selection” page. Select the course you want tutoring in, such as “Chemistry” and click “continue”.
- You will then land at the “Online Tutoring Appointments” page. Click “Search” and ignore the other options.
- This will take you to the “Appointment Search Results” page. Select the appointment you would like.
- You will then be at the “Appointment Confirmation” page. Be sure to input an email address that you check frequently (it does not have to be your Los Rios email address).
- You will receive a confirmation email with the link to your online session. Click on the link at the day and time of your online session. Please check your SPAM or JUNK folder if you do not receive this confirmation email.
- For help using our online session tool, Zoom, please contact Media Services by phone: (916) 608-6516 or email: flc-ms@flc.losrios.edu.
Please Remember
- Tutoring is most likely to be effective when delivered in high doses through tutoring programs with two or three sessions per week.
- You may attend up to 1.5 hours of tutoring each day that online tutoring is available. You can hold two booked sessions at a time. Once one session is over, you can book a new one for the same day or another day.
- You will have to use Zoom on your phone, tablet, laptop, or other device in order to participate in an online tutoring session.
- You should log into your tutoring session early. If you are more than 10 minutes late, your tutor will assume that you do not plan to attend and will close the session.
- If you are unable to attend a session, please cancel it online or contact the front desk for assistance.
NetTutor
NetTutor is also a free live online tutoring service meant to help students in a wide range of subjects in the absence or closure of FLC Tutoring Services. If NetTutor has been enabled for your class, this feature should be on the left-hand navigation menu on the Canvas Course page. If NetTutor has not been enabled for your class, you must sign up for NetTutor.
