Fall 2026 Math Learning Communities (MLC)
Come join fellow students to work on homework, ask questions, get extra support on pre-requisite skills, and build a community of learners in your area of math! All FLC students who are currently taking (or preparing for) a math course are joined with at least one faculty member and at least one tutor. The MLC is held in the Math Center according to the schedule below.
Math Learning Communities (MLC) are drop-in tutoring hours held in the Math Center (FL2-246) from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm. Each day has a different focus group of classes:
- Monday: Pre-Calculus, Calculus and above
- Tuesday: Statistics
- Wednesday: Math 300, 310, 330, and 341
- Thursday: Pre-Calculus, Calculus and above
Are you enrolled in a math class? The Math Center offers one-on-one study skills mentoring.
LTAT 30/31 Math Study Skills
We provide mentoring through the LTAT 30 and 31 math study skills support classes. These 0.5 unit courses offer 30 minute, one-on-one sessions, scheduled around your availability. Your experienced mentor will help you become better at learning math by teaching you how to:
- Determine how you best learn and study by taking a learning assessment.
- Set learning goals and achieve them by applying effective studying techniques and time management skills.
- Study effectively using skills such as annotating and paraphrasing, graphics reading, effective listening, and note-taking.
- Raise exam scores by implementing strategies to improve memory, concentration, and mindset.
Math Bootcamp

Math Boot Camp at Folsom Lake College is a short course designed to help students build math confidence and prepare students with specific math skills for success in future math courses. The Math Boot Camp is facilitated by an instructor and student tutors who assist students on an individual basis. Each student works at their own pace to build and review math skills.
- Length: September 30 through November 8 (six weeks)
- Day: Monday and Wednesday
- Time: 10:30 am to 12:20 pm
- Location: FL2-238 (SOAR Central)
