Folsom Lake College is offering in-person appointments on the Folsom Lake College main campus, El Dorado Center, and the Rancho Cordova Center.
Days and Times
- Main Folsom Campus – Monday through Thursday: 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
- El Dorado Center – Tuesday through Thursday: 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
- Rancho Cordova Center – Tuesday through Thursday: 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
*If a student has an urgent need, online drop-in counseling is available.
Important Information regarding your appointment
- Checking in for your appointment:
FLC - Counseling area in Student Services, in FL1-Aspen Hall
EDC - Student Services, Building B
RCC - Student Services - Arrive 10 minutes prior to your appointment time
- Bring a photo ID (ex. Driver’s license, Passport, School ID)
- Know your FLC Student ID number
- A semester or daily parking permit is required
Folsom Lake College is offering remote appointments via zoom or phone.
Days and Times
- Monday through Thursday: 8:00 am to 6:30 pm
- Friday: 8:00 am to 4:30 pm
- *New - Saturday appointments will be available starting August 13, 2022
Video Conferencing (ZOOM) Appointment
- A zoom link will be emailed to the email address listed on the FLC application.
- Click on the link at the time of the appointment.
Phone Appointment
- The counselor will call the number listed on the application at the time of the appointment.

- Graduation Petition
- MLT application
- IGETC/GE Certification

A First Time College Student
Prior to scheduling an appointment:
- Apply to Folsom Lake College and receive a Los Rios Student ID number.
- Complete the Folsom Lake College online Orientation.
- Call the Counseling Department at (916) 608-6510 to learn how to meet with a Counselor.
A New Student Transferring from another College
Students who have attended another college outside of Los Rios Community College District (American River College, Sacramento City College, Cosumnes River College, Folsom Lake College), must do the following prior to scheduling an appointment with a counselor:
- Apply to Folsom Lake College and receive a Los Rios Student ID number.
- Submit official college transcripts to Admissions and Records. It can take up to 15 days for an official transcript to be evaluated and have it be available to counselors.
- If you do not have time to submit official outside transcripts before your appointment, email unofficial transcripts to the counselor with your name and student ID in the subject line prior to the appointment.
- Select Counseling - Has OUTSIDE Transcripts reason code.
- Select all other applicable reason codes.
I'm Returning to Los Rios after a Break
Students who have previously attended a Los Rios College, but did not attend the previous semester, must do the following before scheduling an appointment with a counselor:
- Apply to Folsom Lake College to be re-activated as a student.
- If you have college transcripts from outside of Los Rios and they are not on file with FLC, email unofficial transcripts to the counselor with your name and student ID in the subject line prior to the appointment.
- Submit official transcripts to Admissions and Records. It can take up to 15 days for an official transcript to be evaluated and have it be available to counselors.
- Select Counseling – Has OUTSIDE Transcripts reason code.
- Select all other applicable reason codes.
- If you do NOT have college transcripts from outside of Los Rios, select all other applicable reason codes.
A Current FLC Student
Students enrolled the previous semester must do the following before scheduling an appointment with a counselor:
- Complete supplemental enrollment form online at eServices.
- If you have college transcripts from outside of Los Rios and they are not on file with FLC, email unofficial transcripts to the counselor with your name and student ID in the subject line prior to the appointment.
- Submit official transcripts to Admissions and Records. It can take up to 15 days for an official transcript to be evaluated and have it be available to counselors.
- Select Counseling – Has OUTSIDE TRANSCRIPTS reason code.
- If you do NOT have college transcripts from outside of Los Rios, select all other applicable reason codes.
A Veteran
If you will be requesting to use and receive GI Bill benefits (not including the Cal Vet Fee Waiver), please call the Counseling Department at (916) 608-6510 for a VA educational plan appointment.
- If you have college transcripts from outside of Los Rios and they are not on file with FLC, email unofficial transcripts to FLC-transcriptsunofficial@flc.losrios.edu.
- Submit official transcripts to Admissions and Records. It can take up to 15 business days for an official transcript to be evaluated and have it be available to counselors.

A Student with a Dismissal Hold
- Complete the Readmit Petition.
- Contact the Soar to Success Team at (916) 608-6470 or soar@flc.losrios.edu to schedule a counseling appointment.
An International Student
- Students who have an F-1 Student Visa, please select International Student reason code.
If you plan on playing an FLC sport or are already part of a team, schedule your appointment with Amber Longhitano the Athletic Counselor. She is offering in person appointments on the FLC main campus and online ZOOM video appointments.
If you are participating in Disability Services and Programs for Students (DSPS), the program offers in person DSPS academic counseling appointments and online ZOOM video appointments.
