Make a Counseling Appointment
FLC counselors are available by appointment for academic, career, personal, and crisis support. You must have an FLC student ID number to use counseling services.
In-Person Appointment
- Arrive 10 minutes prior to your appointment time.
- Check in at the Counseling front desk on the first floor of the College Center.
- Know your FLC student ID number.
Zoom Appointment
- A zoom link will be emailed to the email address listed on the FLC application.
- Click on the link at the time of the appointment.

Are You a First Time College Student?
Prior to scheduling an appointment:
- Apply to Folsom Lake College and receive a Los Rios Student ID number.
- Complete the Folsom Lake College online Orientation.
- Once you’ve received your Student ID and completed Orientation, book your appointment.
Do you Have a Pause Hold?
Follow these steps:
- Complete the Readmit Petition.
- Contact the Soar to Success Team at (916) 608-6470 or soar@flc.losrios.edu to schedule a counseling appointment.
Join a Virtual Drop-in Session
The drop-in counselor will meet with students on a first-come, first-served basis via Zoom through the virtual lobby.
Drop-in Times are as Follows and Subject to Change
- Tuesdays from 12:30 to 4:00 pm
- Wednesdays from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm
NOTE: In-person drop-ins are also available in the Counseling office in FL-1 Student Services. Drop-in availability and wait times will depend on the counselors' schedules. Drop-ins are always subject to change.
What Can be Done in a Drop-In Counseling Session?
- One semester ed plans
- Brief transfer questions
- Financial Aid Override
- Consortium Request (Financial Aid)
- Major change for financial aid eligibility
- Specific question about a prerequisite for a class
- Whether to withdraw from a class
What Cannot be Done in a Drop-In Session?
- Comprehensive Student Ed Plan
- Transcript review or evaluation
- Prerequisite planning for a program application
- VA Ed Plan
- GE Certification (CSU GE / IGETC / CalGETC)

If you plan on playing an FLC sport or are already part of a team, schedule your appointment with Amber Longhitano the Athletic Counselor. She is offering in person appointments on the FLC main campus and online ZOOM video appointments.

If you are participating in Disability Services and Programs for Students (DSPS), the program offers in person DSPS academic counseling appointments and online ZOOM video appointments.
