Student Ambassadors are a group of highly motivated students who support the college and assist all new and continuing Folsom Lake College students, with the navigation of and connection with student services and resources necessary to be successful.

Roles
Services provided by Student Ambassadors include supporting First Year Success programs, campus tours, orientation sessions, group academic planning sessions, eServices registration, and community event support. This highly visible leadership position works to support a number of Student Service departments such as Student Engagement Programs, Counseling, Orientation, Outreach, and Student Life. Student Ambassadors serve at all three sites: Main Folsom campus, El Dorado Center, and Rancho Cordova Center.

First year students who are participating in College Readiness and First Year Engagement programs are assigned a Student Ambassador who will help these new students become familiar with the Folsom Lake College campus and connect with faculty and campus services services as needed. These select Student Ambassadors mentor our first year students as they embark on their journey through higher education. Student Ambassadors meet with students, both in groups and individually, to address questions that may arise as students navigate their first year of college.
Eligibility
In addition to regular Student Ambassador requirements, student who wish to take part in mentorship opportunities must be available Tuesday and Thursday from 1:00 to 2:20 pm in the Fall semester in order to mentor students in the HCD 310: College Success course and Tuesday and Thursday from 9:00 to 10:20 am in the Spring semester to mentor students in HCD 330: Life and Career Planning.

Commitment to being an involved student leader at FLC is essential to being a successful Student Ambassador. To be an ambassador, a student must:
- Be currently enrolled
- Have at least a 3.0 GPA at the beginning of each semester
- Have completed at least 15 units at Folsom Lake College prior to participation in the program
- Attend a training session at the beginning of each semester
- Attend weekly team meetings
