Coronavirus Impact on College Services

The Los Rios Colleges have begun 100% remote operations including moving all classes and student services online until further notice.

Use the following online resources during the campus closure due to COVID-19.

Computer and Technology Resources

Adobe Creative Suite

Adobe has provided temporary at-home access for impacted students and faculty, so that they can continue their work remotely. Please follow the instructions below to enable access to Creative Cloud Desktop Apps on your personal device.

  • Visit and use your school credentials to sign in.
  • If prompted, select Company or School Account and then enter your password. Or provide your credentials in your school’s login screen.
  • From the Creative Cloud website, browse for and download your desired app. Click Apps on the top of the page to view all apps.

Canvas Online Learning System

Many in-person classes are moving to Canvas, the online learning management system used by the Los Rios colleges.

Free and Low-Cost Internet Plans

The National Digital Inclusion Alliance (NDIA) has compiled a list of current offers from ISPs that will help low-income households to acquire service at low or no cost. Most have eligibility limitations linked to income or program enrollment. The list also includes established, nationally available low-cost plans offered by nonprofit organizations. All offers are less than $20/month total cost (with no installation fees).

AT&T is offering unlimited internet data and internet access for limited income households at $10 a month through the "Access from AT&T" program.

California Community Colleges students are eligible for the California Connects Mobile Internet service. This new mobile hotspot service, powered by Sprint, offers nationwide 4G LTE connectivity and allows users to connect up to 10 WiFi enabled devices for up to 10 hours on a single charge, no contract required, for only $19.99 a month.

Financial Resources

Los Rios Student Emergency Fund

The Los Rios Student Emergency Fund provides immediate financial assistance (usually within 24 hours) to students involved in catastrophic or unexpected emergency situations. These one-time grants of up to $500 have no repayment obligation.

California College Student Emergency Support Fund

The California College Student Emergency Support Fund has launched to give one-time $500 hardship grants to students. Administered by Mission Asset Fund (MAF), the Fund is a statewide philanthropic response to address emergency needs for the state’s low-income college students, including undocumented immigrants, foster youth, and those who are housing insecure.

Folsom Lake College Admissions and Records will assist students via email or zoom. Please email inquiries, forms, or petitions through Forms must be submitted using your student Los Rios Gmail email account. The Admissions Virtual Call Center is staffed Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
