Step into style with Fashion Week from April 29 to May 3, 2024! This week, we're celebrating all things fashion, from the hats on our heads to the shoes on our feet. Dive into the world of design and personal expression as we gear up for our upcoming Fashion Show on May 7.
Design your dream outfits with our fashion sketch sheets, featuring outlines of mannequins ready for your creative touch. Sketch, color, and embellish your designs throughout the week. We’ll display these fashion creations in the space to showcase everyone's unique style! Fashion Week is more than just clothes; it's a celebration of personal expression and the skills that bring our ideas to life. Join us for a week of creativity, skill-building, and preparation for the big Fashion Show!
Events of the Week
Custom Jewelry Making
Day: Tuesday, April 30
Time: 12:00 to 1:00 pm
This student-led workshop lets you dive into the craft of custom jewelry. Using resin, create your own necklaces, bracelets, and earrings. It’s a perfect opportunity to make that unique piece you’ve always wanted for yourself or as a gift!
Self-Defense Class with QSA
Day: Tuesday, April 30
Time: 1:30 to 2:30 pm
In collaboration with the Queer Straight Alliance, we’re hosting a self-defense class right outside the Innovation Center. This empowering session is open to anyone interested in learning practical self-defense techniques.
Creating Custom Hats
Day: Thursday, April 30
Time: 10:00 am to 4:30 pm
Get hands-on with hat customization. We provide the hats; you bring the creativity. Embroider, paint, or otherwise enhance your hat to reflect your personal style. Hat making will be highlighted on Tuesday, but will be available all week long.
Free Motion Embroidery Workshop
Day: Thursday, May 2
Time: 12:00 to 1:00 pm
Explore the art of free motion embroidery with our sewing machines. Whether you’re working on test fabric or bringing in your own items for a custom touch, this workshop will teach you the techniques to create beautiful embroidery designs.
