Puente mentors are assigned a student to mentor for the current academic year.
Eligibility
- Mentors need to commit to 7 to 8 hours per semester spent engaging with the students which may include:
- attending Puente events
- getting coffee
- sending texts
- making phone calls
- attending school or cultural events together
- Mentors need to have at least a bachelor's degree to qualify
If you are able to commit to mentoring, we will send you a copy of our calendar of events and our Puente Mentor Handbook. New mentors are encouraged to attend our fall in-person training or spring virtual training.
