Have you ever wondered what goes into a bottle of wine? Behind every bottle are dozens of job opportunities that take grapes all the way from the vineyard to the glass. If you’re interested in entering this exciting industry, you’re in the right place – California makes 81% of all wine in the U.S. and is the 4th leading producer in the world.

Folsom Lake College offers an associate degree program in Small Vineyard and Winery Management that can open the door!

Graduates holding this degree will be well-trained vineyard stewards and winemakers, entering an industry that offers a variety of different positions in the greater Sacramento region and across California’s key wine regions. Additionally, the program will set you up to transfer to a four-year university if you wish to pursue additional degrees in viticulture, enology, or related studies.

The Sacramento and Sierra Foothills area is considered an up-and-coming region in the wine industry. With many in our region’s wine industry set to retire in the coming years, the field is constantly seeking new talent. Don’t miss out on a great opportunity to jump into an exciting viticulture career!

Jobs in this field include assistant vineyard manager, assistant winemaker, cellar worker, laboratory technician, event manager, logistics coordinator, sales representative, and tasting room associate. There are so many more jobs that this degree could lead you to through additional education and experience. Wages may vary widely depending on the type of position as well as the location.

This exciting program has considerable support within the community including an annual scholarship and program support from Willamette Valley Vineyards. Check out the class schedule and get started today!
