Help Us Help Students on #GivingTuesday

November 21, 2019

50% of community college students are food insecure, 60% are housing insecure

Many Folsom Lake College and Los Rios students struggle to meet their basic needs, and it often takes only a minor setback to derail their dreams. Did you know that 41% of FLC students are low income, and 21% are living below the poverty line? The Falcon Cares program provides a safety net for our students through the following:

  • Food for Falcons Food Pantries
  • Textbook Scholarships
  • Gowns for Grads
  • Los Rios Student Emergency Fund

In honor of the global #GivingTuesday on Tuesday, December 3, 2019, join the Los Rios Colleges Foundation and the FLC Office of Philanthropy in giving the gift of security to our most vulnerable students. Together, we can make sure no Los Rios student goes hungry this holiday season. It doesn't matter how big your gift is – when we all come together, we can accomplish great things!

Student Food Cabinets
#FOODforFALCONS serves any FLC student with food insecurity. In addition to the direct distribution of food, the program aims to educate students about additional community resources that address hunger and nourishment.

There are scholarship opportunities for all students and the funds do not have to be repaid!
