Health and Wellness Services emphasizes health and wellness promotion and illness prevention. Most services and all workshops are free to students. The College Nurse can help a student develop a plan to manage chronic conditions, provide instructions for self-care of an illness or injury, and/or give referrals to appropriate community resources that meet a student’s unique needs.

We provide wellness coaching, advising, support for mind/body/spirit, assisting/listening to student’s needs and problems, work with students on wellness goals or healing solutions, and offer referrals as needed for therapy or mental health counseling.

The program will serve any individual in Sacramento County who is at least 18 years of age experiencing a mental health crisis but is not in immediate danger to self or others. All individuals utilizing the respite center may be eligible to stay up to 23 hours and expect service based on compassion, understanding, and knowledge.

This program offers:

  • An innovative and unique alternative service to traditional emergency room and inpatient care.
  • A welcoming, comfortable and home-like atmosphere, providing the individual in crisis or at risk of going into crisis a place to stabilize in a safe and supportive environment.
  • Culturally competent care provided by multilingual staff.

Walk-in clinic for individuals with an urgent mental health need. The MHUCC is a client-centered program that focuses on providing immediate relief to individuals and families in distress. MHUCC welcomes anyone experiencing mental health-distress regardless of age and ability to pay.

They also provide brief medication management services (excluding controlled substances) and crisis interventions, psychiatric evaluations, and clinical assessments.
