Train as a Pre-Inspector
Are you looking for an exciting career with excellent compensation? This two-week, 80-hour program, developed by industry leaders, provides trainees the skills necessary to explore a career in arboriculture.
The need for qualified Utility Vegetation Management (UVM) Level 1 Pre-Inspectors is at an all-time high as the result of increased regulations for utility companies to help maintain the delivery of safe and reliable power to the public. This 80-hour, two-week, course will give you the technical and field knowledge to patrol power lines to assure vegetation clearances are, and will remain, in compliance with state and federal law.
You will receive valuable certification at no cost to you. Registration is now open for Utility Vegetation Management Pre-Inspector. Submitting a registration form does not guarantee enrollment in the class.
- Commitment to follow Folsom Lake College student conduct and rights, to be respectful of instructors and fellow trainees, to show up on time for every class, be ready to learn and participate in class, and plan to study after class. Two late shows or no shows will disqualify trainees from the program.
- This program is funded by grants which will require trainees to participate in surveys. Data collected will include information on your income, size of household, demographics, employment, your use of state and federal social services, and other personal information. Data is sent via a secure server and is used for the purpose of understanding participant demographics and improving the program. All participants are required to complete every survey.

NOTE: A GED or high school diploma is not required.
