Alex Catalogue of Electronic
Texts: A collection of public domain documents from American and
English literature as well as Western philosophy. Search the digital
collection by title or keyword to locate the literary work in full
text. The complete texts of all the items in the Alex Catalogue
are available by download only. This search engine functions as a concordance
to the electronic books retrieveable from this website. Moreover, you
can search the content of multiple documents simultaneously. For example,
you can first locate all the documents in the collection authored by
Mark Twain. Next, you can search selected documents for something like
slav* (which includes slave, slaves, slavery, etc.) to draw out themes
across texts. This site is maintained by Librarian, Eric Morgan of

Bartleby: Great Books Online:
Access to free full-text reference books including the Columbia
Encyclopedia, American Heritage Dictionary, Gray's Anatomy and
Elements of Style. Also includes full-text poetry anthologies;
out-of-print fiction and non-fiction titles.
Bibliomania: A free
online source for Literature with hundreds of searchable full-text
classics. Major works in American Literature are listed chronologically.
In addition, this database provides major full-text Reference works.

MANYBOOKS.net:
MANYBOOKS.NET offers an online library of FREE ebooks. Many of the etexts are from the November, 2003 Project Gutenberg DVD, which contains the entire Project Gutenberg archives except for the Human Genome Project and audio eBooks, due to size limitations, and the Project Gutenberg of Australia eBooks, due to copyright. As of July 2004 most current PG texts are available here, usuallly within the week of release.

The Internet Public Library Online Texts Collection contains over
20,000 full-text titles that can be browsed by author, title, or
by the Dewey Decimal Classification. The text is available for
online viewing.
Open eBook:
"The Open eBook Forum (OeBF) is an international trade and
standards organization. Their members consist of hardware and software

Scholarly Electronic Publishing Bibliography:

Universal Library: Carnegie
Mellon University has digitally preserved literary,
artistic, and scientific works, and has made them available
without charge in ebook format.
