    California Agricultural Technology Institute: The California Agricultural Technology Institute (CATI)located on the campus of California State University, Fresno, is a non-profit, educational institution committed to improving the profitability of California agriculture. The research specialists have provided a very extensive list of AG links including a number of related links to viticulture sites. Publications include a quarterly newsletter, as well as a variety of research reports, technical bulletins and resource booklets.

     

    Grape Pest Management Guidelines: The University of California at Davis provides official guidelines for pest monitoring techniques, pesticides, and nonpesticide alternatives for managing pests in agriculture, floriculture, and commercial turf.

     

    Michigan State University: MSU maintains extensive viticulture resources on the Information Center within the AgNIC alliance. The table of contents on this site provides a list of the subjects beneath various viticulture headings.

     

    North Texas Winemakers Guild: This site provides a list of links to information on Wine Law, Enology, and Viticulture, Also available are databases of information on wine, wine making, and grape growing, including the business, technology, and history associated with wine; worldwide coverage with emphasis on California.

     

    Organic Viticulture Resources: The Washington State University Viticulture and Enology department has developed a website on organic viticulture resources for establishing an organic vinyard and organic pest management.

     

    Sonoma County Wine Library: The Sonoma County Wine Library provides some great wine links and wine-book-related sites.

     

    University of California Davis: The Department of Viticulture and Enology has provided a specific list of wine-related links. UCD is the foremost university in California for upper-division Viticulture education.

     

    WineFiles: "Authoritative information on wine, wine making and grape growing, including the business, technology and history associated with wine. Coverage is worldwide with a special emphasis on California. This database is produced by the Sonoma County Wine Library and includes historical indexing produced by Charles Sullivan." Use the full-featured search engine to search the California Wine History Files (1849-1999).

    California Association of Winegrape Growers: "Established in 1974, the California Association of Winegrape Growers is an advocate for farmers, providing leadership on public policies, research and education programs, sustainable farming practices and trade policy to enhance the California winegrape growing business and our communities." This site provides extensive information on California's wine grape industry.

     

    California Sustainable Winegrowing Alliance: The Sustainable Winegrowing Program's mission, vision and values best describe the combination of factors that motivated the California wine community to design, develop, implement and report on a comprehensive sustainability program.

     

    CalWineries: Use this community site to explore California wineries, wine regions, varietals and wineries and learn about the basics of wine chemistry, and how California wineries utilize it to make better wine. Founded by Ben Bicais of the International Sommelier Guild. The site provides an excellent guide to the Sierra Foothills Wine Country.

     

    Foreign Agricultural Service: The United States Department of Agriculture has a database-specific search engine to locate government documents on grapes or other related topics.

     

    Integrated Viticulture Online: "This website is designed and maintained by the University of California Division of Agricultural and Natural Resources Integrated Grape Production Workgroup to increase accessibility to the work of UC researchers, including faculty, Cooperative Extension specialists, advisors, and staff."

     

    National Grape Registry: The emphasis of this site is to assist grape growers and researchers in their efforts to find appropriate plant material. Iinformation for all grape varieties available in the United States is available through this site and is profiled by origin, identity, and characteristics. The NGR website has been created with funding from the Viticulture Consortium West and the American Vineyard Foundation.

     

    Viticulture and Enology Research Center: The Fresno State Department of Viticulture and Enology provides world-class undergraduate and graduate education, research, and outreach programs in sustainable and value added viticulture and enology. Be sure to use the related websites link and the research projects link for additional academic resource material.

     

    Wine Institute: "Wine Institute is the voice for California wine representing more than 1100 wineries and affiliated businesses from the beautiful and diverse wine regions throughout the state." The Institute provides reports in sustainable winegrowing, enconomic impact reports, and other vititcultural topics, plus statistics on wine sales and production.

     

    Wine Laws and Regulations: The Alchohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau division of the U.S. Department of the Treasury has developed a page that provides information on the Code of Federal Regulations and public laws relating to the wine industry. Included are links on dealcoholization of wine, wine industry statistics and information on how to read grape wine labels.

     

    Winedoctor: "The Winedoctor has had a wine glossary since the inception of the website back in 2000.The glossary covers a broad range of topics, "from coulure to midpalate to millerandage, vandange to vignoble."
