ASM Journals:
Use the High Wire hosted Journals Search Engine to locate full-text
articles or abstracts by title or alphabetical link list. Some
articles are available online on a pay-per-article basis.
BioScience and Natural Resources Library: The Librarians at the Marian Koshland B&NR Library(UC Berkeley) have evaluated and selected these sites for their importance in the biological sciences and natural resources. Some of these links are to publicly available websites.

Earth Science World offers information geoscience, and provides acces to it's image bank, which contains photographs of all aspects of Earth Science, available to the public, educators, and the geoscience community free of charge.
Echo: Exploring
& Collecting History Online: "The site incorporates
the WWW Virtual Library for the History of Science, Technology,
Medicine, and Industry - an index of nearly 5,000 websites, many
with excerpts and annotations. Since 2001 the Echo project has
used the Internet to collect and present the history of science,
technology, and industry. Echo provides a centralized guide and
portal for those seeking websites on the history of science and
technology. This guide helps researchers find the exact information
they need while also granting curious browsers a forum for exploration."
Energy Citations Database: "The Energy Citations Database (ECD) provides free access to over 2.3 million science research citations from 1948 through the present, with continued growth through regular updates. There are over 179,000 electronic documents, primarily from 1994 forward, available via the database. Citations and documents are made publicly available by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE)."

science, politics, and cultural studies. ibiblio.org is a collaboration
of the Center for the Public Domain and The University of North
Carolina - Chapel Hill."
In-cites: "This
website provides commentary and analysis on some of the most influential
scientific discoveries of our time in the words of the scientists
who made those discoveries. It also includes listings of highly
cited and so-called hot papers across 22 broad fields, as well

Landsat Program: "The Landsat Program is a series of Earth-observing satellite missions jointly managed by NASA and the U.S. Geological Survey. guide to search for reliable sources in healthcare.
Microbes: "A microbiology
information portal containing a vast collection of resources including

National Academies Press: "NAP
publishes over 200 books a year on a wide range of topics in science,
engineering, and health, capturing the most authoritative views
on important issues in science and health policy."
National Council for Science and the Environment: NCSE has been working since 1990 to improve the scientific basis of environmental decisionmaking. This site has been specifically designed as a portal to provide access to global resources and enable better communication with science-based information tools.
National Geophysical
Data Center: "This site provides scientific products
and services for geophysical data describing the sea floor, solid
earth and solar-terrestrial environment, including Earth observation
from space."

History Museums And Collections: A specialized subject index

Public Library of Science: "This is the web site of the Public Library of Science, a nonprofit open access publisher founded by scientists and phsysicians in October 2000. PLoS provides peer-reviewed, open access journals in biology, medicine, genetics, pathogens, and tropical diseases."
PubMed Central: "PubMed
Central (PMC) is the U.S. National Library of Medicine's digital
archive of life sciences journal literature. Access to PMC is free
and unrestricted." Many articles are available online in full
text but if not, then an abstract is given. Search journals by
subject or title.

Science.Gov: "Resources

specialized search engine focuses on scientific issues. Science
Search finds accurate information in scientific areas.
SciNet: A specialized directory
and search engine covering only science subjects. It has specific
subject categories in agriculture, astronomy, biology, chemistry,
earth science, environment, math, medicine, physics, social science,
technology, and more. Also provided are links to other science
specific search engines.
ScienceWatch:
This site, updated weekly, provides a behind-the-scenes look at the scientists, journals, institutions, nations, and papers selected by Essential Science Indicators from Thomson Reuters and other products of the Research Services Group. Read interviews and first-person essays about people in a wide variety of fields and professions.
USGS Library: "Materials within the library system include books and maps dating back to the 16th and 17th centuries. Other materials include a nearly complete set of the various State Geological Survey publications and a virtually complete set of USGS topographic maps."
Wind
