Chiefs of State of Foreign Governments: "The CIA publishes and updates the online directory of Chiefs of State and Cabinet Members of Foreign Governments regularly. The directory is intended to be used primarily as a reference aid and includes as many governments of the world as is considered practical, some of them not officially recognized by the United States.Governments are listed in alphabetical order according to the most commonly used version of each country's name."

Cornell Law Library - Foreign and International Law Sources: "A selective guide to web sites providing links to texts of laws and court decisions, research guides and commentary on laws, international documents, directories, trade information, and/or statistics."

Foreign Affairs Online: This site "has been specifically designed to assist students and other individuals interested in International Relations, International Law, and U.S. Foreign Policy."

International Energy Agency: "The International Energy Agency (IEA) acts as energy policy advisor to 26 Member countries in their effort to ensure reliable, affordable and clean energy for their citizens."

International Relations Resources: A webliography by David Ettinger covers international affairs via gateways and other major global sites on the world wide web. This site has been very carefully researched for the best virtual resources available throughout the academic community.

Nations of the World: Legal information on foreign nations, provided by the law department of the Library of Congress.

The National Trade Data Bank - GLOBUS: "Global Business Opportunities offers daily trade leads from the Trade Opportunities Program (TOPS), as well as the Department of Agriculture. GLOBUS also offers daily procurement activity from the Defense Logistics Agency, the United Nations, and the Commerce Business Daily leads."

New Zealand Digital Library: This portal provides access to a large collection of documents in the Humanity Development Library; Medical and Health Library; World Environment Library; Food Nutrition, and Agricultural Library; plus Global UN collections.

Portals to the World: "Provided by the Library of Congress, Portals to the World contains selective links providing authoritative, in-depth information about the nations and other areas of the world. They are arranged by country or area with the links for each sorted into a wide range of broad categories. The links were selected by Area Specialists and other Library staff using Library of Congress selection criteria."

United Nations System of Organizations: Comprehensive index of websites to international organizations and agencies offering economic and statistical information.

USAID Policy Links: "Links organized by topical categories and sub-themes oriented towards professionals, researchers and students that are interested in the Agency's mission. These online resources are in English and provide useful statistical and analytical information on the changing development and foreign assistance environment."

Agency for International Development Experience Clearinghouse: The Development Experience Clearinghouse (DEC) acquires USAID-funded publications for dissemination to the international development community within the following subject areas: Economic Growth, Agriculture and Trade, Global Health, Democracy, Conflict and Humanitarian Assistance.

Bureau of Economic Analysis: U.S. economic statistics including gross domestic product, personal income outlays, gross state product, trade in goods and services, and annual industry accounts.

Council on Foreign Relations: "The CFR is an independent, nonpartisan membership organization, think tank, and publisher dedicated to being a resource for its members, government officials, business executives, journalists, educators and students, civic and religious leaders, and other interested citizens in order to help them better understand the world and the foreign policy choices facing the United States and other countries."

Eurostat: "Eurostat is the Statistical Office of the European Communities situated in Luxembourg. Its task is to provide the European Union with statistics at European level that enable comparisons between countries and regions."

Foreign Relations of the United States: "This web site presents the official documentary historical record of major U.S. foreign policy decisions and significant diplomatic activity. The series, which is produced by the State Department's Office of the Historian, began in 1861 and now comprises more than 350 individual volumes. The volumes published over the last two decades increasingly contain declassified records from all the foreign affairs agencies."

International Peace Movement, Linus Pauling: "Incorporating over 500 scanned documents, photographs, audio clips and video excerpts, this web resource features a number of rare and important items, most of which are held within Oregon State University Libraries' Ava Helen and Linus Pauling Papers."

International Reform Monitor: "A wide range of well-selected information on social policy (health care, pensions provision, family policy, state welfare), labour market policy and industrial relations in 15 OECD-countries: Australia, Austria, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom and United States of America. It is part of the "International Reform Monitor" project by the Bertelsmann Foundation. "

International Trade Administration: Reports on U.S. trade policy, import/export information, and foreign trade agreements.

Office of the Historian: More Publications: This State Department web site is a permanent electronic archive of information released prior to January 20, 2001. Please see www.state.gov for material released since President George W. Bush took office on that date. This site is not updated so external links may no longer function.

U.S. Agency for International Development: "USAID is an independent federal government agency that receives overall foreign policy guidance from the Secretary of State. Their work supports long-term and equitable economic growth and advances U.S. foreign policy objectives by supporting: economic growth, agriculture, trade, global health, democracy, conflict prevention and humanitarian assistance."

World Bank Group: The World Bank's "primary focus is on helping the poorest people and the poorest countries. This site provides an overview of how the Bank uses its financial resources, its highly trained staff, and its extensive knowledge base to help developing countries onto paths of stable, sustainable, and equitable growth."
