California Pioneer Project: This is a directory of resources for genealogical research in California. Includes a California Pioneer List, county information, libraries and databases, historical and genealogical societies and a bibliography of diaries and journals.
Death Indexes: "This website is a directory of links to websites with online death indexes, listed by state and county. Included are death records, death certificate indexes, death notices & registers, obituaries, probate indexes, and cemetery & burial records."
Federal Land Records: Maintained by the Bureau of Land Management and the General Land Office, this site offers researchers a source of information on the initial transfer of land titles from the Federal government to individuals. Also available is image access to more than three million Federal land title records for Eastern Public Land States, issued between 1820 and 1908. Although very comprehensive, the site does not currently contain every Federal title record.

Genealogy Portal: Started as an aid for finding passengers in the Ellis Island database, this "One Step" website has continued to evolve and today includes over 100 web-based tools that provide easy to use interfaces for searching multiple databases. Also includes material about creating your own search forms. Created by genealogist and speaker Stephen Morse.
Gravesite Locator: The site enables researchers to locate burial locations of veterans and their family members in VA National Cemeteries, state veterans cemeteries, various other military and Department of Interior cemeteries, and for veterans buried in private cemeteries when the grave is marked with a government grave marker.

Transcribers Guild: A group of volunteers dedicated
to making our ancestors' immigration records easy and convenient
to find has developed this site to make ships' passenger
lists available online, at no cost to the researcher. They
have transcribed more than 5,000 ships' passenger lists,
citing over 1/2 million passenger arrivals.
Marriage Record Index: This site allows researchers access to thousands of marriage records by the name of the bride or groom. "Virtually all of the pre-1900 marriages are included ... for Arizona, Idaho and Nevada." Also includes many records from other western states. It is an ongoing project of the Brigham Young University-Idaho Family History Center.
Mortality Schedules: "In 1850, 1860, 1870, and 1880 census enumerators were directed to secure in addition to the usually required census data, information as to all persons dying within the 12 months preceding the census taking. These lists became known as the 'Mortality Schedules.'" Mortality Schedules are searchable, or browsable by state. Listings include name, age, sex, marital status, state or country of birth, death date, occupation, and cause of death.

SFGenealogy: "This site contains a browsable and searchable list of birth records, marriages, obituaries, and death records "transcribed from historic San Francisco newspapers," mainly before 1906. Includes related articles and full-text books; research tips; a profile of San Francisco cemeteries; maps; and research tips and annotated links to libraries, archives, museums, and government agencies."

UK Family History Online: "This site, provided by the familyrecords.gov consortium, provides access to information and links to the main UK family history sites on the web." Records include public, general, archives, libraries, birth, death, marriage, migration, military, adoption, census, wills, and India Office Records.
USGenWeb Project: "This comprehensive site provides links to all the state genealogy Web sites which, in turn, provide gateways to the counties. They also sponsor Special Archiving Projects that include putting all U.S. census data online; transcribing cemetery tombstone information; tracking single lineage; and genealogy for children."

WorldGenWeb: This online resource for international genealogists "is a non-profit, volunteer based organization dedicated to providing genealogical and historical records and resources for world-wide access." Divided into eleven world regions, it is searchable by countries, provinces, states, and other administrative divisions.
