Soar to Success is designed to provide a welcoming, supportive, and enjoyable college experience to students during their first year in college. The first year of college is an important time for all students as it serves as a foundation on which success toward graduation and transfer are built. Research shows that a student's experiences during their first year of college greatly influence their success in reaching their academic goals.

Start Soarin’: New Student Orientation
Start your journey at Folsom Lake College by attending, Start Soarin’: New Student Orientation. The sessions are focused on helping you discover FLC’s academic and support services, learn what you should consider when choosing classes, guide you through the enrollment process, and meet other students, student leaders, and staff members.
Success Coaches
Folsom Lake College provides all first time students with a direct connection to a staff member, called a Success Coach, providing students an easy way to request information, ask questions, and receive help quickly. Success Coaches also follow up with students who may need a little more support or help with topics like enrolling in classes, finding out where to purchase books and supplies, and how to access FLC's diverse resources.
